We went to Chuck E Cheese’s tonight for a birthday party and had a wonderful time! Normally I think of Chuck E’s as Ella’s special place because she looks forward to it so much. But since it is Pax week, I decided to spend some quality time with my boy while Ella and Erica enjoyed their time together.
Naturally, on the way there, Pax managed to Houdini his way out of his shoes and socks while strapped in his car seat. This kid hates footwear…
At dinner he ate two whole pieces of pizza and an entire juice box! I guess he knew he was going to need to get fueled up for the big night.
Again I tried to get him to dance to all of the techno Chuck E Cheese music. The dance will have to remain a mystery to you until I catch him when he least suspects it. He’ll probably be standing next to a unicorn.
After pizza it was time to play! He absolutely loved the booth where you get your picture taken, he would get really excited on the clock that swings him (barely) high off the ground. I had fun chasing him around as he flexed his new found leg muscles and we wandered for a minute in the play place that hangs from the ceiling. At first he was unsure of the pipes and tubes but soon enough he started really crawling fast! The only real dud was the ride that simulated a roller coaster. After about five seconds he was turning around looking at anything but the screen.
I must say another highlight of the night was how I OWNED the Slam-A-Winner game scoring the jackpot and winning 125 tickets! 125 tickets really is not enough to redeem them for anything of note, but I felt pretty good about my button slamming skills.
Finally, at home he was all tuckered out, I rocked him to sleep. He didn’t even want to read his usual books. He just rolled over on his side so his head was facing me and curled up in a ball while I held him.
What a great night!
So what fun family activities are you doing indoors to beat the cold and snowy weather? (or hot and humid weather, depending on your location)

My daughter is deathly afraid of Chuck E Cheese. We went a couple years ago and she HID under the table from him until he passed. And even then I had to convince her that he was no longer in the general area.
We have yet to make our first trip there. I wasn’t aware of all that it offered. Looks like you had a great time.
I think my 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th… and who knows how many more birthdays were at Chuck’s Place. I love cheese, pizza, and TMNT’s arcade game… so I think you should take the kids there at least quarterly.
